Mine Olde Mind

I feel that in systematically working through "the list" (reference my first post), I will only be able to complain of our world today. So here is for some positive thought. I promise I am NOT a "Debby-downer".

A Blessed Life

I live an extremely blessed life.

  1. I am in college
  2. I am married to a loving, patient and smart man
  3. We have food, clothes and shelter
  4. Though we are not rich, we have both been blessed with jobs
  5. I have an amazing family
  6. I know Christ
  7. I have the freedom to express myself in society verbally, politically, and socially. (eg.. freedom of speech, voting, and not being subjugated to social norms)
  8. I have true friends.
  9. My husband and I are healthy
  10. We belong to a nourishing church

These are just the top 10, but it is evidence that I have lived a graced life. I just wanted to pause from my "Discrepancies" and look at what is the ideal of picturesque and lovely already present in our day to day.

From this know... God is continually answering prayers, of the 10 items listed above, all 10 are answered prayers. Some within this year. My mother told me this quote and I think it produces excellence in one's life so I hope you get something out of it:

  • "Work like it is all up to you, pray like it is all up to God"

Now, within this, I realize that it is all up to God, but while I am on this earth, I will do my best to be my best. This is a brief thought, but an important one. Thanks for listening.
